Hot tramp, I love you so!

Good evening huns, since my last post, I have skateboarded to my local co-op twice, been on a coach trip to Durham, and I went to a vintage fair. Today I bought a really cute pair of little gold 60s dancing shoes in AgeUK, but they broke when I just wore them round the house for like 2 minutes, so my mind has been crying for a few hours. I also had a dream last night that I saw 70s Mick Jagger on the bus, which was AWESOME!!

Well I am extremely jealous of this gal's style, the source of this image is unknown.

Here are some shots of my Tumblr......

Amazing Frida Kahlo socks I saw on Google images...

Scrunchies and hair clips

So it is finally the summer holidays. Well, my school actually broke up on Thursday, but, WHATEVS. I'd like to congratulate Wills and Kate on having their baby- you guys are so cute and awesome!!
So here are some photographs I took the other week for my art coursework. I only just managed to print them off the computer and glue them in my sketchbook on the day I had to hand it in and it is still not finished so I am kind of pooing that I'll have to finish it in my own time next year.
I would also like to start doing some fun posts this holiday, you know, stuff like outfit posts and pics from days out (yea I say this everytime I even do a post I know).

Don't ask me why

Ewww, Mondays suck -_- ! My weekend was taken over by homework, which did NOT do me any good!
I would say that the highlight of my weekend was finally getting my JUJU jellies.....

MMMMM- I think I am in love with them!

Yesterday I was having a little 'homework break', which was just me going on eBay and looking at creepy old things. These taxidermy birds were probably my favourite find! Yeah, I know that they're super creepy, but if I could easily afford it (it is like currently bidding at £1000 or something!??), I would probably buy it and keep it in my front room or something (but only if I had my own house because my parents would NEVVERRRR let me keep this!).

Also, do we remember when the My Little Ponies looked like this!?? I think I have a My little pony magazine from when I was like four somewhere that I really need to find!

I found these pretty pics on Tumblr.

I think this is one of the most prettiest pictures ever taken. It is Tilda Swinton modelling for Tim Walker's s/s 13 portfolio I think!

The past couple of weeks in photos

Greetings everyone, here are some pics of what I've been up to over the last couple of weeks. I think I'm at the stage now when I should really probably think of a certain 'topic' I should write on this blog, and stop writing a load of boring nonsense that no-ones really bothered about :/ . Also, whoop whoop..... I'm going to New York I like, ummm 4 WEEKS!!! Woooooooo!! Omigosh, I am soo excited!! I've planned on taking my lomography Diana camera, so when I get my photos developed, I'll find a way to share the pics on here!

What I'm wearing today

Howdy people, here's a (hopefully) fun post on what I'm wearing today. I opted for the 'double denim' combo because, you know, I'm just cool like that, lol!
Well, today all I've been doing really is taking pictures of my cat, drinking tea, eating a load of junk, and surfing the net for a fur hat, so yeah, that's such a great way to spend your Sunday (not!)......

How we change...

Aaah, is it just me that looks back at our fashion mistakes with sentiment? Oh my gosh, gone are the days of the 'flip flops and flares' combo, and me telling my friends "well they would have worn stuff like this at Woodstock". And the days of me wearing surfer t-shirts with ankle-length skirts are completely over and hopefully, should NEVER return....

I've always has a mahoosive love for the 1960s, and when I was around 10, I was totally obsessed with Woodstock. Yeah, I suppose that Woodstock was a pretty groovy thing, but it wasn't very groovy that I thought it would be cool to 're-live' 1969 by wearing clothes that I would think 'looked' of that era. I also thought I was 'super cool' to listen to bands such as Jefferson Airplane and The Jimi Hendrix experience. I also had quite a thing for Country Joe and the fish.

When I was 12, my favourite outfit was (I'm not sure if I've told you this before...) when I used to wear this cream collar-less shirt with tiny purple flowers all over it. I suppose it was actually alright, but because I thought I looked really cool when I wore it with a matching purple waistcoat with embroidered flowers on it (it had belonged to my mother in the 90s), and a pair of flared jeans that I remember buying from a sale at Dorothy Perkins; oh yeah, I would always 'finish the look off' with a pair of flip flops and maybe a few long necklaces, you know the really bright 'ethnic' and 'fairtrade' ones....

Well, it took me WAAAAYYY to long to grow out of that what I can only think of as a 'hippie' and 'down with all that tie-die and flip flops' faze, and I had better NEVER EVER see those days again.

I am about to show you a comparison of me back in my 'Woodstock loving' days and just how I look nowadays...

Oh my goodness, do not laugh at my long hair or whatever I am doing with my hands on the photo on the left, but I ACTUALLY used to go out dressed like that. I even think that I could have been 13 in that photo (dun dun duunnn!). I must have thought at that time that the fringe made me look cool and 'hip', well, I was totally wrong.

Hopefully on the picture on the right, I might look a bit more trendy and 'normal' (hence  me wearing a Victorian-style blouse from the 70s). Since growing out of that faze, I've had my hair cut and  now wash it on a regular basis, and tie it back quite often. Gone are the days of flip flops and roll-necks and flared jeans. I went in River Island yesterday, and saw what used to be my 'dream pair of jeans', which I had last seen in there a couple of years ago. They are what I would call 'ultimate flares' or just 'bellbottoms', because I'm talking about the BIGGEST flare in them that you could imagine. I could have bought them, as they only had one left (they were in the sale), and they were in my size, and were only £5. I'm sooo glad I didn't actually buy them, because, they may have looked cool in the seventies or if you are tall with long, slim legs. I am unfortunately stuck with rather short, stubby legs, so I probably couldn't have 'pulled them off'. Also, I could not risk getting them, because every time I wore them I would probably spend the day looking back at the 11 year old me and think that if I had owned them all those years ago, I would have probably been wearing them with a roll neck, or, a floral shirt with a brightly coloured waistcoat and, Urg.... flip flops.

DIY Scrunchie Tutorial

Howdy all, Happy Christmas Eve! Today I'm sharing with you a quick tutorial I've made which shows you how to make your own Scrunchies, just like the one Heather Chandler wears in Heathers...

So, you'll need:   Scissors,  a nice piece of fabric (I used one about half the size of a portrait piece of A4 paper),   a piece of thin elastic string(about the length of a regular hair bobble),   and a needle and thread.

Start by folding your piece of fabric in half, but the wrong way so you can't see the pretty pattern on it.

Stitch it up baby, but DON'T sew it up at the ends.

Turn it out the right way.

Take you elastic string and find a way to feed it through the 'tube' or 'sock' (whatever you wanna call it!) that you have made....

Make sure you can tie the elasic in a knot once you have fed it through....

Now sew the ends of the fabric together.....

Et voila!! Your Scrunchie is now complete!! :D

Now you'll look super trendy!!
