Roll-necks CAN look cool...

Oh god, I have made many a fashion mistake when it came to roll-necks, soo bad that I struggle to even say the word without it being followed by an "oh god, don't you talk to me about roll-necks". They used to be my favourite type of clothing, and I used to own at least five (they were all I used to wear, literally). I thought they were amazing when I was going through this kind of 'hippie' faze a couple of years ago. This was a faze that lasted waaay  to long (I'm talking a couple of years), and is something I am NEVER going back to, EVER! I used to pair up a roll-neck with flared jeans, this purple waistcoat with a load of embroidered flowers on it, I also wore a load of those long necklaces made from those tiny beads, and flip flops, yes, FLIP FLOPS!! I had my hair about 'bum-length', and I had some sort of "curtain" fringe going on at the front. Ah yes, they were dark times...

I remember in my first year of high school, I was part of this art project and we had to go to an art gallery to do this 'exhibition' thing. My friends were all looking trendy, you know, I think the year was 2009 and they all had straightened hair, and were wearing stuff like trendy tracksuits, and t-shirts with some sort of pun printed on them. I, on the other hand, thought I looked really cool. I was wearing a light blue, fair isle roll-neck jumper with three-quarter length sleeves. I paired with a CALF LENGTH DENIM SKIRT!! Not to mention those knee-length boots that laced up to the top. Brrrrrrrr, looking back, I bet I looked like one of those crazy old people who still have their hair down to their butt, and haven't bought any "new" clothes since the 90s. The worst thing was, I thought I looked awesome and really trendy, and had achieved the look I wanted to create; someone who was at Woodstock.
I'm soo glad I've grown out of that faze, and it took me way to long before I realised how ridiculous I looked(omg, it was only like a year ago!!!!!!). All my roll- necks now live at the back of my wardrobe, hopefully, never to be seen again, as they aren't even nice one now that I have realised.

So, enough of me and my bad fashion past, roll-necks can look good, you just have to be REALLY careful with what you wear them with. These celebs (plus a cute knitting pattern) are lookin' good in their roll-necks.....

Pixie Lott looks cool in her roll-neck here!

So does Alexa Chung!
